Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing is an intensive therapy developed to facilitate the safe and rapid processing of beliefs and memories typically caused by trauma.

Using rhythmical, lateral eye-movements, EMDR stimulates both hemispheres of the brain in rapid succession, activating deep neural pathways associated with emotional processing and memory. Negative experiences “trapped” or “buried” by psychological defence mechanisms are safely brought into conscious awareness for processing and healing.
